Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and these artists sure prove that. Here are five of my favorite cover songs…so far.

Lake Street Dive seen here doing a cover of the Jackson 5’s I want you back. There other music is even better so take a listen

Angus and Julia Stone covering You’re the One That I Want from Grease the musical…the perfect love song.

Sophie Madeline actually has a bunch of great covers but seen here performing a cover of Goody  Goody by Frankie Lymon (on of my favorite songs EVER!)

Gil Hockman, on of SA’s own doing Gin & Juice by Snoop Dogg…Lion…Dogg

Birdy  covers Bon Iver, the kings of cover songs…I think it may be more famous than the original.

Radiohead + South Africa = poop in pants

So Radiohead may just be coming to SA. After years of dating one of the biggest Radiohead fans out there I was constantly bombarded with a constant stream of their music. I only really started appreciating them once we had broken up…guess its the whole take the horse to the water vibe. BUT  what you need to do is go and like the page so they can be confirmed! So go do it NOW…please.

What 2Pac and R2D2 have in common

So Coachella has been all everyone’s talking about, I was unable to attend due to …well lets say previous commitments, but I was satisfied knowing that 2Pac also wouldn’t be able to attend.

So much for that the asshole totally went without letting me know! Anyways I found this video that some clever soul made using the hologram performance, being a Star Wars fan I can truly appreciate it.

Apparently the hologram will be joining Dre, Snoop, Eminem, 50 Cent, and Wiz Khalifa on a tour later this year. Now that sounds like a party.

I wonder who they will ‘hologram’ up next. How about Kurt or Jimi?

The Wilderness Downtown

I came across this interactive video while researching for a story on Google. It seems more and more films like this are popping up. This one holds a special place in my heart though even though its a little dated!

I present to you Arcade Fire’s interactive music experience. Take the time and do it its really rather amazing

The Daily Fun

Being constantly bombarded with news…seeing as it’s my job to know what’s going on in the world around be can get a little overwhelming and sad sometimes. Everyday it’s more death more strikes and more hurt, so I have found a little journalistic outlet. Enter the Daily Sun.
Now I’ve had a rant about the Daily Sun Before you can read it here:. So sure I was somewhat annoyed with the rubbish that was being produced until I realised just how hilarious it is. Not to discount other people’s cultures or beliefs of course but dang it makes me smile…a lot.

Why wouldn’t I want to read about how a “Fake Zombie Stole My Songs”? Besides the obvious question: What is a fake zombie? (I’m imagining Shaun of The Dead), it really is just hilarious. On that note I have decided to start a running feature of sorts. Maybe it will help make your day a little brighter knowing that you are not being stalked by a fake zombie!

First instalment to follow soon.
